Non-contact detection of non-metallic contaminants in food products

We are looking for a real-time, non-contact technology to detect and display non-metallic inclusions and contaminants in food products such as chocolates, cookies, gum, candy pieces. This could include either deliberately placed inclusions such as nuts or pieces of fruit as well as contaminants introduced inadvertently.


Monitoring inclusions and potential contaminants allows us to improve control of the inclusion contents of products for quality and productivity purposes, as well as to improve the safety of products.

Key Success Criteria

Solutions must be:

  • Non-contact
  • Real-time
  • Adaptable to high speed production lines

Solutions must not change the product in any way as to make it unsaleable.
